Viviana Simon, Director
Viviana Simon is the Policy Analysis Center’s part-time director.
Prior to the Policy Analysis Center, Dr. Simon worked for the Society for Women’s Health Research (SWHR), where she was the Vice President for Scientific Affairs. Dr. Simon directed all of SWHR’s scientific programs, including meetings, conferences and workshops.
Some of the special projects under Dr. Simon’s supervision, included the Sex and Gene Expression Conference (2000 – 2005), the Isis Fund Networks for Interdisciplinary Research (2001- present) and the Organizaton for the Study of Sex Differences (OSSD; 2006 – present).
Dr. Simon began her career at Proteome Inc./Incyte Genomics, where she was senior editor of human databases. She holds a B.A. in Microbiology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and a Ph.D. in cell biology from Columbia University. She also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Banting and Best Institute at the University of Toronto, in Ontario, Canada.
A resident of Columbia, she serves on the board of directors of Alianza se la Comunidad, an organization that advocates for the county’s Hispanic community.
Lee Wildemann, Legislative Analyst
Prior to her work at the Policy Analysis Center, Lee Wildemann served as Director of Government Affairs &
Communications at the Howard County Chamber of Commerce and as the legislative liaison for the State of Maryland’s Department of General Services.
Wildemann is a graduate of Leadership Howard County. She has a BA from McDaniel College.
